The Growers:
Combining a passion for sustainable agriculture and sustaining
communities, Jasper and William Forrester are dedicated to responsible
stewardship of the land and the highest respect for living systems.

Jasper has been the main farmer here at GreenMan since 1997. Her
formal education includes degrees in Business Administration and
Environmental Horticulture. She is a frequent speaker and contributor to
local publications on the subject of sustainable agriculture. Jasper's
community affiliations are numerous: she is a member of Washington
Tilth Producers and Seattle Tilth, and she is Secretary/Treasurer of the
Vashon-Maury Grange and President of the Vashon Island Growers
Association 1999-2005.

Will is an accomplished painter and muralist whose most recent project
is a mural of grand proportions commissioned to commemorate 100 years
of commerce, industry, and agriculture on Vashon Island. (To find out

Jasper and Will were married here on Vashon in April 2005. In the last
four years, Will has exhuberantly taken to the deeply satisfying
pleasure of the simple farm life. He has become a passionate advocate for
sustainability as well, and an invaluable partner on the farm.
